When posting a plea for help, please include a good, clear, recent photo of the animal in question, along with any information you have about the animal’s background and situation.

    A good picture is:

    • Clear, close-up, and in-focus.
    • Taken in bright natural light (no flash).
    • Not posed or forced (don’t hold the animal’s head still).
    • Clearly shows the animal’s eyes (windows of the soul).

Please post only about your own animal companions, wild animals you have encountered, or strays that have come to you for help. I know it’s tempting, especially when someone’s animal goes missing, but please don’t post about anyone else’s animal companions.  We don’t want to invade anyone’s privacy by posting about their animal, and we don’t want to violate the privacy of the group by sharing what someone has posted in response to a plea for help.

When starting a thread (such as a request for help, a question, or an experience you’d like to share), please include a keyword or short headline to make categorizing or searching for the post easier. Something like: Question about remote communication or Sharing an experience. Over time, it will be very helpful to have these “tags” to make finding subjects of interest easier.

When sharing an experience or providing context for a question, please keep privacy concerns in mind. You can tell about an experience or give background for a question without naming names or sharing photos of someone else’s animal companions.

When commenting on any post, please remember the forum rules.
